9 celebrities who decided to really go for it on April Fools' Day

To varying degrees of success, mind.

YESTERDAY WAS APRIL FOOLS’ Day and never ones to miss out on a bit of attention, a number of celebrities decided to play “pranks” on their fans.

Here’s how they marked it.

George Takei told everyone that he was running for Congress.

The legendary actor told The Daily Buzz that he was planning to challenge Devin Nunes for his seat in next year’s midterm elections.

But after receiving endorsements from the likes of Mark Ruffalo, he revealed that the whole thing was an elaborate prank and posted a, “Gotcha!” image.

Conor McGregor’s coach John Kavanagh teased the possibility of a bout between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather…

And revealed the “slightly unusual” terms of the fight.

Right.

Katy Perry joked that this was the cover of her next album.

A lackluster effort if we’re being frank.

Rebel Wilson faked an injury on the set of Pitch Perfect 3 and sent everyone into panic mode…
